Enviro Club

Our bid in 2013 to be recognized as an Eco School has been successful. We are proud to announce that as a new-comer to this international endeavour, we received the Bronze Award and status of Eco School for 2014. This means that we will have to comply with various regulations. We have committed to fulfill various obligations. We wish to thank our enthusiastic learners and parents of our community for their support and participation in reducing their carbon foot- print. We look forward to your continued support.

We will be continuing with our Recycling project this year together with the theme of Healthy Living.  Learners from the club, together with Mr. Miller, Mrs. M Govender and Mrs. R. Gengan, have already cleared out an unused area with the intention of starting a vegetable garden.  The emphasis for this year is on the use of resources, for example, water and energy and living a healthy life-style. The QGHS RECYCLING STATION will be established later this year.

The Eco Code for QGHS:
  • To conscientise the community of Queensburgh on the importance of recycling and healthy living.
  • To stir an awakening in the youth of our school to become more aware of and sensitive to their environment.

We thank our learners for promoting a beautiful, clean and safe environment.

The club meets every Tuesday and Thursday.

"Each and every one of us can make changes in the way we live our lives and become part of the solution."
(Al Gore, An Inconvenient Truth)
